Frequently Asked Questions

I have included information sbelow to help answer some common questions about my photography sessions. Please feel free to give me a call or send me an email if your question is not answered below.  I will be more than happy to help you.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
I approach photography with my heart and with a deep honesty.  I endeavor to create images that capture my subjects with authenticity, while looking their best.  My work documents fleeting moments, and forms memorable experiences.

I’M EXPECTING, WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A SESSION?
I suggest you call as soon as you know you would like to book a session with me as my schedule can fill up quickly. I try to accommodate everyone, but your best bet it to call as early in advance as possible.  For maternity clients, the best time to book is right around 32 to 35 weeks to allow for a good sized belly, but before you get really uncomfortable. For newborn clients, the ideal time is to book 6-10 days after your due date.  If you deliver late or early, we will move your appointment time if necessary. For all other ages, there isn’t a specific date, it just depends on your preference and schedule.

WHAT AGES SHOULD I HAVE MY CHILD PHOTOGRAPHED?
I recommend that you
 focus on the stages rather than the actual ages.  The following ages are a perfect time for professional portraits: 6-10 days for a newborn as this is when they are the sleepiest, and easy to pose.  7 months for the sitting up stage where they can sit solidly on their own and they are all about personality and expression. For the walking stage and for the 1 year portrait, I  recommend coming around 12-14 months old.  After they turn one, you will find the rate at which they look different (a good indicator of when it is time to come in) slows down dramatically. After their 1st birthday, you may want to have portraits done once or twice a year.  I recommend scheduling your photo session around the spring, birthdays and/or the holiday season (Aug-Dec).  These are all just suggestions and I will happily work with all ages and stages.

WHAT IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY OF MY OUTDOOR SESSION?
I won’t cancel a shoot unless it is raining during your session time.  Often the lighting during a cloudy day is better for photography.  So unless the weather is really bad, plan on still having your shoot.  I will be checking the weather forecast and will call you in the event we need to cancel.  And do not fret, I will make sure to reschedule a new session for you.  Sometimes we just have to work around Mother Nature.

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY SESSION?
Should you need to cancel your session, please call me as soon as possible (at least 24-48 hours in advance).   If your child is unusually irritable or sick, it is better to go ahead and reschedule your session. If your child has a bump, scratch or bruise, I can easily remove them with Photoshop at no additional charge.  If your child has a black eye or anything else that changes their actual appearance, it is best to reschedule after they have healed. The creative fee is good as long as you rebook within 6 months from your original appointment time.

HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION BE?
Outdoor portrait sessions last approximately an hour.  Sessions at your home last approximately an hour, except newborn sessions are allotted 2-3 hours.  These times vary depending on how many people are included in the photographs and the age of your children.  I will take extra time as needed since your happiness is my ultimate goal.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?
I offer select packages and a la carte pricing to fit a variety of needs and budgets.  The products include several presentation options for wall art and display.  My services aren’t the least expensive nor the most costly in town, but I am one of the most artistic and service oriented photographers who understands how important all of the little details are.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and PayPal.  I will also happily set up a payment plan for you if desired.

HOW AND WHEN DO I GET TO SEE MY IMAGES AND PLACE MY ORDER?
Your fully edited online gallery will be placed on a private gallery three weeks after your session.  The gallery will be available for 60 days, which you may share with family and friends.  Print orders can be placed directly from this site, and wall display options can be ordered in consultation with me.

HOW LONG UNTIL MY ORDER ARRIVES?
Your order will be completed approximately 6 weeks after I receive your payment. You may pick your order up from me or I can ship your order directly to you at an added cost.  If you need it sooner for any reason, please communicate this and I will expedite your order.  Depending on the vendors, this may incur a rush fee.
